As the “new normal” establishes itself, an emphasis is being put on the “new”. The world is becoming used to new ways of behaving and performing activities, including learning. A rise in digitally delivered learning has put the future of CPD into question. We will speak with Greg Watts, Director of Quantity Surveying, and Nicky Harris, Director of Construction Project Management at The University of Salford, about the current concern of construction professionals for the quality of the CPD offered. In their research, Watts and Harris have reported significant changes in the way construction professionals understand their CPD since the COVID19 pandemic, with 9 out of every 10 deciding to independently undertake CPD in a more self-directed way. This HUG is addressed to building product manufacturers that want to reflect these changes on their CPD practices, using the latest platforms to cater for a sector of professionals that is looking for a modernisation of the CPD offer. We will look at HubSpot as key platform for building product manufacturers to implement these changes and adapt their CPD to ensure the comfort of architects and specifiers.
