About this event

“I don’t know what to say, so I end up not saying anything at all.” Is that a familiar feeling?

It’s the worst, isn’t it? We hear stories of bigotry and we think, “I wouldn’t stay silent if that happened in front of me.” But then we’re at work or in our community and something is said or done, and immediately we’re thinking “I should say something! But I have no idea what to say and if I say the wrong thing, I might make it worse. But someone should say something!”

And then the moment passes and nothing was said, again.

Let’s change that! We teach inclusive leaders a response framework that allows you to have the right words ready at the right time, regardless of whether you’re witnessing bigotry based in racism, homophobia, ableism, misogyny, and more.

“Step Up & Speak Out” is a hands-on vocal empowerment workshop where we learn and practice the skill of using our voices to address harm in the moment, a crucial skill that all allies and members of the LGBTQ+ community need in their tool kit.
